Mike Bonney Co-authors Article on Finding STEM Educators
Mike Bonney and Pat Kirby, executive director of Citizen Schools Massachusetts, co-authored an article for CommonWealth Magazine, called "Tap colleges, firms for STEM educators," that explores ways to enlist STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) professionals around the country to help close the STEM achievement gap between students in the U.S. and those in other developed countries. Mike and Pat cite the recent success of Citizen Schools as an example, and reason that such effort would benefit not only the K-12 children of today, but also companies looking to hire the well-qualified employees of tomorrow.

Cubist's Dave Mantus Appeared in FOX Public Service Announcement
On December 3, 2009, the local FOX television affiliate (FOX25) sent a camera crew to tape an interview with Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Dave Mantus for a public service announcement (PSA) about volunteerism. President and CEO Mike Bonney was the featured speaker at the March 26th, 2009, Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce Life Sciences Forum, which features industry leaders from the biotechnology and life sciences sectors, and highlights emerging trends, best practices, and new initiatives that are emerging in this vital industry. Previous speakers include National Medal of Science recipient Dr. Robert Langer, institute professor, MIT; and Nobel Laureate Craig Mello, Ph.D., professor of molecular medicine, University of Massachusetts Medical School.

On September 29th, 2009, Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick participated in the opening of our state-of-the-art, 35,000 square foot research facility at 65 Hayden. The laboratory will accommodate more than 100 employees focused on the discovery of important new molecules to treat serious diseases. Before the ribbon was cut, marking the official opening of the building, the Governor toured the facility.
